'Constance Mary Louise Hyde (née Felgate)'

I received the following email on 8 Jan. 2017 from Kenneth James:

"I hope you can help me re the painting portrayed in the enclosed attachments. It was bought and described as attributed to Frank Hyde. It is inscribed in ink verso Frank Hyde 1876 , quite faint."

Mention of the date triggered me to look for an image of Frank's first wife. On finding it, and making a comparison, I think that the painting is highly likely to be of Constance.

The present owner is now trying to trace the provenance of the painting which he bought at an auction.

Frank married Constance Mary Louisa Felgate on the 16th November, 1876, but sadly she died less than a year later, at the age of 21, on September 28th 1877.
