'The Rival Monasteries'

The Rival Monasteries ? No. 2

'The Rival Monasteries - ? No. 2 of a pair'
(1907 - 37" w x 25" h - lithograph)

My second cousin Annette, who is grand-daughter of Captain John Francis Hyde's second son, Frederick de la Hyde, sent me the picture and writes:

Printed above the one of the monks playing bowls is the following:

"Reproduced by the Berlin Photographic Co. Berlin & London".

"London Published 1907 Tallust Littaur 1 & 2 Ttr Mansion House E C."

"FRANK HYDE 1907" is printed thus in the bottom right hand corner.
I do not know anything of the story of this one. Inside frame measurements are 95cm x 65cm

16 Jan. 2004.

There seems some question to the text above the picture itself. Top left above print " Reproduced by The Berlin Photographic Co. Berlin and London"

Top Right above print " London Published 1907 *allust Littaur 1 & 2 *tr., Mansion House, EC"

*not sure of this letter could be T, L or S doesn't match any other uppercase except where noted.
